8:1 내가 오늘 명하는 모든 명령을 너희는 지켜 행하라 그리하면 너희가 살고 번성하고 여호와께서 너희의 조상들에게 맹세하신 땅에 들어가서 그것을 차지하리라

8:2 네 하나님 여호와께서 이 사십 년 동안에 네게 광야 길을 걷게 하신 것을 기억하라 이는 너를 낮추시며 너를 시험하사 네 마음이 어떠한지 그 명령을 지키는지 지키지 않는지 알려 하심이라

8:3 너를 낮추시며 너를 주리게 하시며 또 너도 알지 못하며 네 조상들도 알지 못하던 만나를 네게 먹이신 것은 사람이 떡으로만 사는 것이 아니요 여호와의 입에서 나오는 모든 말씀으로 사는 줄을 네가 알게 하려 하심이니라

Deuteronomy 8:1-4

8:1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers.

8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

8:4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

신명기는 120세 된 모세가 죽음을 앞두고 가나안 약속의 땅에 들어가기 전에 40년 동안 광야에서 살아남은 새로운 2세대들에게 전하는 말씀인데 그 주제는 기억하라는 것입니다.

이스라엘 백성들이 가나안에 들어가기 전 요단강 오른쪽 모압 평야에서 가나안을 바라보며 모세가 이스라엘 백성들에게 과거와 하나님의 구원 그리고 미래에 대해서 설교한 내용입니다. 모세의 마지막 유언과도 같은 아주 중요한 말씀이라고 생각합니다. 모세는 이 새로운 세대들에게 그들의 부모들이 살아왔던 쓰라린 삶을 강조하면서 그 부모 세대들에게서 잊지 말고 기억하며 배워야 할 것이 있다면 하나님의 말씀에 철저히 순종해야 하는 것을 강조하고 있습니다. 새로운 2세대가 가나안 땅에 들어가기 직전에 모세는 이스라엘 백성들로 하여금 철저하게 하나님만믿고 의지하는 가운데 순종하여 복을 받으며 잘 살도록 가르치며 기록한 말씀의 책입니다.

Deuteronomy is the message of 120-year-old Moses to the new second generation who survived in the wilderness for 40 years before entering the Promised Land of Canaan before death, and the theme is to remember.

Before the Israelites entered Canaan, Moses preached to the Israelites about the past, God’s salvation, and the future while looking at Canaan from the plains of Moab on the right side of the Jordan River. I think it is a very important word like Moses’ last will. Moses emphasizes to this new generation the bitter life their parents have lived, and if there is something to be learned and remembered from the parents’ generation, it is emphasized that they must thoroughly obey the Word of God. Right before the new 2nd generation entered the land of Canaan, Moses taught and recorded the Israelites to obey, receive blessings, and live well while thoroughly trusting and relying only on God.

1. 하나님의 은혜를 기억하라는 것입니다.

It is to remember God’s grace.

광야는 물과 먹을 것이 없고 돌과 먼지가 가득한 위험한 곳입니다. 낮에는 더위가 심하고 밤에는 겨울의 추위처럼 굉장히 추운 곳입니다. 그런 곳에서 광야 생활에 대한 경험이 전혀 없었던 이스라엘 민족이 무려 40년간이나 살았습니다. 하나님이 그들을 구름기둥과 불기둥으로 붙들고 있지 않았다면 아예 불가능한 일이었다는 사실입니다.

이 세상을 살아가고 있는 가운데 예수님을 믿지 않아도 많은 돈의 수입 속에서 잘 살지만 그것도 다 하나님이 은혜를 주셨기 때문이라고 확신합니다. 하나님은 선한사람과 악한사람을 차별하지 않고 모든 사람들에게 햇빛과 비와 양식을 주십니다. 그러니까 이 세상을 살고 있는 모든 사람들이 하나님의 은혜를 입고 살아가고 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 하나님으로부터 은혜를 받아서 함께 살고 있는데 나는 하나님 없이도 산다고 생각하며 주장하는 것은 굉장히 잘못된 생각입니다.

우리가 살아 온 지난날을 되돌아보며 우리는 지난날을 절대로 잊지 말아야 합니다. 지나온 수많은 삶을 기억하며 하나님의 은혜로 모두가 살아왔음을 기억해야 한다는 것입니다. 앞으로도 하나님의 은혜로 살아간다는 사실을 잊지 말고, 오늘 하루하루를 하나님의 은혜로 살아가고 있음을 기억하며 살아가야 한다는 것입니다.

The wilderness is a dangerous place full of stones and dust, without water or food. It is very hot during the day and extremely cold at night, like the cold of winter. In such a place, the Israelites, who had no experience of living in the wilderness, lived for 40 years. It is true that it would have been impossible if God had not been holding them by the pillar of cloud and fire.

In this world, even if you don’t believe in Jesus, you can live well with a lot of money, but I’m sure it’s all because God has given you grace. God does not discriminate between good people and bad people, and gives everyone sunshine, rain, and food. So, all the people living in this world are living by the grace of God. Therefore, it is a very wrong idea to think and claim that I live without God when I receive grace from God and live together.

Looking back on the past days we have lived, we must never forget the past days. Remembering the many lives that have passed, we must remember that we have all lived by God’s grace. We must not forget that we will continue to live by the grace of God, and we must live each day remembering that we are living by the grace of God.

2. 하나님의 능력과 말씀으로 사는 것을 기억하라는 것입니다.

It is to remember to live by the power and word of God.

신명기 8:3-4

8:3 너를 낮추시며 너를 주리게 하시며 또 너도 알지 못하며 네 조상들도 알지 못하던 만나를 네게 먹이신 것은 사람이 떡으로만 사는 것이 아니요 여호와의 입에서 나오는 모든 말씀으로 사는 줄을 네가 알게 하려 하심이니라

8:4 이 사십 년 동안에 네 의복이 해어지지 아니하였고 네 발이 부르트지 아니하였느니라

여러분은 지금까지 무엇으로 살아 왔습니까? 참으로 많은 것을 생각하게 합니다. 바쁜 여정의 삶속에서 여러분의 삶이 무엇에 의하여 여기까지 왔다고 생각합니까? 이스라엘 백성들의 광야 40년을 생각하여 보면 육신을 가지고 있는 그들에게 그때에 가장 절실히 필요했던 것은 먹는 것과 입는 것이 가장 절실 했을 것이라고 생각합니다.

광야로 나온 이스라엘 민족들의 삶은 40년의 긴 여정이었습니다. 이러한 여정 속에서 이스라엘 백성들은 끝없이 원망하고 불평을 하던 백성들이었습니다. 하지만 하나님은 그들을 위해 특별한 배려를 해주셨습니다. 이 사십 년 동안에 먹을 것과 입을 것을 공급해 주셨다는 말씀입니다. 이러한 일들이 하나님의 능력이 아니고서는 절대로 일어 날 수 없는 일들입니다.

저와 여러분 우리가 살아 온 지난날의 삶을 되돌아보시길 바랍니다. 그동안 내가 능력이 있어서, 내가 최선을 다해서, 내가 아주 잘해서, 여기에 있나요, 아닙니다. 하나님의 놀라운 역사와 능력 속에서 하나님이 공급해 주시는 능력으로 현재 살고 있고 현재 이 자리에 있는 것입니다.

여러분! 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들에게 요구하시는 것은 단 하나밖에 없었습니다. 하나님의 말씀을 붙들고 오직 여호와 하나님만 믿고 의지하라는 것입니다. 목이 마르거나 배가 고파도 골고다 언덕의 십자가만 바라보라는 것입니다. 길을 가다가 어려움을 만나도 반드시 하나님께서 도와주실 것이라는 약속의 말씀을 믿고, 믿음의 삶속에서 꿋꿋이 자기를 지키며 하나님을 의지하여 나아가라는 것입니다.

What have you lived up to now? Really makes me think a lot. In the busy journey of life, what do you think has brought you to this point in your life? Considering the 40 years of the Israelites in the wilderness, I think what they most desperately needed at that time was food and clothing.

The life of the Israelites who came out into the wilderness was a long journey of 40 years. In this journey, the Israelites were people who endlessly grumbled and complained. But God gave them special consideration. It means that God has provided food and clothing for these forty years. These are things that can never happen without the power of God.

Me and everyone, I hope you look back on the lives we have lived in the past. In the meantime, because I have the ability, because I do my best, because I am very good, I am here, no. In the midst of God’s amazing works and power, we are currently living with the power that God supplies, and we are currently in this position.

everyone! There was only one thing God required of the Israelites. It means holding on to God’s Word and believing and relying only on Jehovah God. Even if you are thirsty or hungry, just look at the cross on Golgotha Hill. Even if you encounter difficulties along the way, believe in the word of promise that God will surely help you, keep yourself strong in the life of faith, and rely on God to advanc.

3. 여호와 하나님을 잊지 말고 감사하는 삶을 기억하라는 것입니다.

It means not forgetting Jehovah God and remembering a life of gratitude.

신명기8:11-14

8:11 내가 오늘 네게 명하는 여호와의 명령과 법도와 규례를 지키지 아니하고 네 하나님 여호와를 잊어버리지 않도록 삼갈지어다

8:12 네가 먹어서 배부르고 아름다운 집을 짓고 거주하게 되며

8:13 또 네 소와 양이 번성하며 네 은금이 증식되며 네 소유가 다 풍부하게 될 때에

8:14 네 마음이 교만하여 네 하나님 여호와를 잊어버릴까 염려하노라 여호와는 너를 애굽 땅 종 되었던 집에서 이끌어 내시고

Deuteronomy 8: 11-14

8:11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

8:12 Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;

8:13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;

8:14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

하나님은 이스라엘 백성들을 애굽 땅 종 되었던 자리에서 이끌어 내서 해방시키셨습니다. 특히 위험한 광야에서 보호하시고 먹고 마시고 입고 살도록 기적적으로 필요한 모든 것을 공급하시고 시험하시며 낮추셨습니다. 그 이유는 어디까지나 이스라엘 백성들이 하나님의 말씀에 순종하여 복된 삶을 살기를 소원하셨기 때문입니다.

그래서 모세는 이스라엘 백성들이 가나안 땅에 들어가면 거기에는 샘물이 풍성하며 곡물과 온갖 과실이 풍성하기 때문에 풍요로운 삶을 살게 된다는 것입니다. 또한 금과 은 등의 수많은 광산물도 많이 나와서 모든 삶이 안정되고 풍성하게 될 것이라는 것입니다.

이와 같은 축복의 땅에서 풍족한 삶으로 인하여 교만해져서 애굽 땅에서의 노예생활과 광야에서 인도하여 주신 하나님의 은혜와 사랑을 잊어버릴까 모세는 염려하고 있습니다. 결국 이스라엘의 역사는 어떻게 되었습니까? 하나님 스스로 선택하신 이스라엘 백성들이 많은 선지자들이 하나님께 돌아올 것을 전하였지만 안타깝게도 우상숭배를 하여 멸망하였다는 역사적인 사실이사실을 잊지 말아야 하겠습니다.

물질의 풍성함이 타락의 위험이 되는 일은 그때나 지금 이 현실에서도 똑같고 역사는 반복되어집니다. 그러므로 모세는 풍성함을 인하여 오히려 풍요로운 축복의 가나안 땅으로 인도하여 주신 하나님을 잊지말고 날마다 감사하는 가운데 찬송하며 영광을 돌리며 살아야 함을 강조하고 있습니다.

God brought the Israelites out of their slavery in Egypt and freed them. He protected, especially in the dangerous wilderness, and miraculously supplied, tested, and humbled everything necessary to eat, drink, wear, and live. The reason was that the Israelites always wanted to live a blessed life by obeying God’s Word.

So, Moses said that when the Israelites enter the land of Canaan, they will live a prosperous life because there are abundant springs and grains and all kinds of fruits. In addition, many minerals such as gold and silver will come out, and all life will be stable and prosperous.

Moses is concerned that he will become arrogant due to his abundant life in such a blessed land and forget the life of slavery in Egypt and the grace and love of God who led him in the wilderness. After all, what happened to Israel’s history? We must not forget the historical fact that many prophets of the Israelites, who were chosen by God themselves, preached the return to God, but unfortunately, they worshiped idols and perished.

The fact that the abundance of materials is the risk of corruption is the same in this reality as it was then, and history repeats itself. Therefore, Moses emphasizes that we should not forget God who led us to the blessed land of Canaan because of its abundance, but live by praising and glorifying God every day with thanksgiving

열왕기상 1:30

1:30 내가 이전에 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 가리켜 네게 맹세하여 이르기를 네 아들 솔로몬이 반드시 나를 이어 왕이 되고 나를 대신하여 내 왕위에 앉으리라 하였으니 내가 오늘 그대로 행하리라

1 Kings 1:30

1:30 Even as I sware unto thee by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.

아도니야와 솔로몬은 다윗의 아들입니다. 그런데 후에 장자가 되었던 아도니야는 많은 군사와 말들이 있었습니다. 제사장과 요압장군이 함께 하는 힘이 있는 사람이었습니다. 그런데 왜 아도니야가 왕이 되지 않고 어린 솔로몬이 왕이 되었을까요? 아도니야와 솔로몬의 차이는 약속이었습니다. 솔로몬이 왕이 된 것은 오래전에 다윗에게 하나님께서 하신 약속입니다. 우리가 잊지 말아야 할 것은 내 실력, 내 능력이 아니고 하나님의 약속의 말씀 속에서 하나님의 은혜 가운데 하나님의 능력으로 살아가는 존재들입니다. 그러므로 이 땅을 살아가고 있는 우리모두는 골고다 언덕의 예수님의 십자가의 은혜속에서 살아가는 약속의 자녀들이라는 사실을 날마다 기억하며 살아가야 합니다.

다시한번 말씀을 드리면 저와 여러분 우리모두는 예수 그리스도를 통하여 구원하여 주셨고 약속의 말씀을 주셨다는 사실입니다. 그리고 저와 여러분 우리들은 미래를 바라보며 살고 있는 존재들입니다. 그래서 하나님의 은혜와 사랑과 능력을 잊지 말고, 하나님의 말씀을 붙들고 기도하며 오직 하나님만 의지 하여 모든 영광을 하나님께 돌리는 복된 삶이되시길 예수님이름으로 축복합니다.

Adonijah and Solomon are the sons of David. But Adonijah, who later became the firstborn, had many soldiers and horses. He was a powerful man with both the priest and General Joab. But why did Adonijah not become king and young Solomon became king? The difference between Adonijah and Solomon was the promise. The fact that Solomon became king was God’s promise to David a long time ago. What we must not forget is not my skills or my abilities, but the beings who live by God’s power in the word of God’s promise and God’s grace. Therefore, all of us living on this earth must remember that we are children of promise who live in the grace of Jesus’ cross on the hill of Golgotha.

If I say it again, it is true that you and I have saved all of us through Jesus Christ and given the word of promise. And you and I are beings who live looking into the future. So don’t forget God’s grace, love and power, hold on to God’s Word, pray, rely only on God, and give all glory to God. I bless you in the name of Jesus.
