룻기 1:16-18(개역개정)

1:16 룻이 이르되 내게 어머니를 떠나며 어머니를 따르지 말고 돌아가라 강권하지 마옵소서 어머니께서 가시는 곳에 나도 가고 어머니께서 머무시는 곳에서 나도 머물겠나이다 어머니의 백성이 나의 백성이 되고 어머니의 하나님이 나의 하나님이 되시리니

1:17 어머니께서 죽으시는 곳에서 나도 죽어 거기 묻힐 것이라 만일 내가 죽는 일 외에 어머니를 떠나면 여호와께서 내게 벌을 내리시고 더 내리시기를 원하나이다 하는지라

1:18 나오미가 룻이 자기와 함께 가기로 굳게 결심함을 보고 그에게 말하기를 그치니라

1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

1:17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

1:18 When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

사람은 어떠한 결심을 하느냐에 따라서 인생이 달라지는 듯합니다. 저와 여러분들은 룻기 1장을 통하여 룻과 나오미의 삶을 잘 알고 있는 말씀입니다. 룻기 1장에서 말씀하고 있는 것처럼 나오미의 가정은 하나님을 잘 믿는 가정이었습니다. 나오미의 남편의 이름은 엘리멜렉이며, 말룐과 기론 이라는 두 아들도 있었습니다. 그들은 베들레헴이라는 곳에서 살다가 흉년이 다가오자 견디지 못하여 베들레헴을 떠나 모압이라고 하는 땅으로 갔습니다. 그리고 자신이 살고 있는 모압에서 두 며느리 룻과 오르바를 맞이하여 살았습니다. 그러나 인생에서 큰 흉년을 만난 베들레헴이라는 곳보다 더 나은 삶을 위하여 이방의 모압 땅에 정착하였지만 세월을 지내면서 이제 남은 것은 두 며느리와 나오미 자신으로서 눈물을 흘리며 살아가야 하는 슬픔뿐이었습니다.

Life seems to change depending on a person’s choices. You and I are familiar with the lives of Ruth and Naomi through Chapter 1 of the Book of Ruth. As seen in Chapter 1 of the Book of Ruth, Naomi’s family was a family that believed in God. Naomi’s husband’s name was Elimelech, and he had two sons, Malion and Chiron. They lived in a place called Bethlehem, but when the famine approached, they could not bear it, so they left Bethlehem and went to a land called Moab. After that he lived in the land of Moab with his two daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah. However, she settled in Moab, a foreign land, for a better life than the place called Bethlehem, and suffered a great famine in her life, but as time passed, she was left with only sorrow, having to live in tears.

사실 나오미의 가정은 살아계신 하나님께서 약속하신 땅보다 인간적으로 볼 때에 풍요로웠던 이방의 땅을 더 의지하였음을 말씀을 통하여 잘 알 수 있습니다. 남편과 자식들만 있으면 어디에 가든지 모든 일을 다 해결할 수가 있다고 생각을 하였으며 나오미 가정의 마음도 든든하였습니다. 그러나 10년을 이방의 땅 모압에서 살아가면서 인간적으로 믿었던 모든 것들이 모두 무너져 버려 소망이라고 하는 것은 기대 할 수가 없는 환경이 되어 버렸습니다. 그러니까 룻기는 그 이유를 설명할 수 없는 감당하기 어려운 고난으로 인하여 겪게 되는 세 여인의 이야기라고 할 수 있습니다. 그리고 하나님께서는 소망까지도 기대하거나 바라 볼 수 없었던 이 가정을 구원하여 그들의 삶을 어떻게 회복시키셨는지에 대해서 저와 여러분 우리 모두에게 이야기 해 주고 있는 굉장히 중요한 말씀입니다.

In fact, we can clearly see through the words that Naomi’s family relied more on the foreign land, which was rich from a human perspective, than on the land promised by the living God. She thought that as long as she had a husband and children, she could solve all problems wherever she went, and Naomi’s family felt secure. However, after living in the foreign land of Moab for 10 years, everything I had believed in as a human being collapsed, and it became an environment where I could not hope for anything. So, the Book of Ruth can be said to be the story of three women who went through unbearable hardships for which the reasons could not be explained. And this is a very important message that tells me and all of us how God saved this family who had no hope or hope and restored their lives.

룻기 1장 1절을 보면 이렇게 기록되어 있음을 볼 수 있습니다. “사사들이 치리하던 때에 그 땅에 흉년이 드니라 유다 베들레헴에 한 사람이 그의 아내와 두 아들을 데리고 모압 지방에 가서 거류하였는데” 라고 기록하고 있음을 잘 확인 할 수 있습니다. 즉 룻기는 ‘사사들의 치리하던 때에’라는 말로 시작된다는 말씀입니다. 사사기는 이스라엘이 혼란 속에 있었던 때의 굉장히 어두운 역사적인 내용을 기록하고 있는 말씀입니다. 정치와 종교 그리고 사회는 모든 면에서 완전히 타락해서 아무 것도 기대 할 수 없었던 암흑시대였습니다. 그렇지만 룻기는 이러한 시대적 상황 속에서도 서로 사랑하고 룻과 나오미의 생애 속에서 살아계신 하나님을 보여주고 있는 은혜로운 말씀들입니다. 그리고 살아계신 하나님이 어떻게 이들을 인도하시고 은혜를 베풀어 주셨는지 시어머니 나오미와 며느리 룻의 아름다운 이야기를 이 귀한 말씀의 룻기를 통하여 우리 모두는 확인 하게 되는 것입니다.

If you look at Ruth 1:1, you can see that it is written like this. “Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.

In other words, the Book of Ruth begins with the words, ‘In the days when the judges ruled.’ The Book of Judges records very dark historical content from a time when Israel was in turmoil. It was a dark age in which politics, religion, and society were so completely corrupted in all aspects that nothing could be expected. However, the Book of Ruth is a series of gracious words that show God living in the lives of Ruth and Naomi and their love for each other even in these times. And through this precious book of Ruth, we can all see the beautiful story of mother-in-law Naomi and her daughter-in-law Ruth and how the living God guided them and gave them grace.

룻기 1장 16절에서 룻의 고백과 결단을 다시한번 볼까요. “룻이 이르되 내게 어머니를 떠나며 어머니를 따르지 말고 돌아가라 강권하지 마옵소서 어머니께서 가시는 곳에 나도 가고 어머니께서 머무시는 곳에서 나도 머물겠나이다 어머니의 백성이 나의 백성이 되고 어머니의 하나님이 나의 하나님이 되시리니” 룻기 1장 16절에서 한마디로 설명한다면 이방 여인 룻의 신앙고백이라고도 할 수 있습니다. 이방여인이었던 룻은 비록 짧은 날들이었지만 시어머니와 함께 거하는 동안 하나님을 굳게 믿고 있었던 것을 잘 알 수 있습니다. 사실 인간적인 측면에서 룻은 시어머니를 따라 이스라엘 베들레헴에 가게 되면 그 어떤 것도 기대 할 수 없습니다. 왜냐하면 룻 자신은 모압 여인으로서 멸시와 천대를 평생 동안 받게 될 수 있는 것이 그 시대의 현실이었기 때문입니다. 그러나 룻은 유대인이나 아브라함의 자손은 아니더라도 이미 전능하신 여호와 하나님을 믿고 있는 하나님의 사람이었음을 확인 할 수 있습니다.

Let’s look again at Ruth’s confession and decision in Ruth 1:16. “And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

“If you were to explain it in one word in Ruth 1:16, it could also be said to be the confession of faith of Ruth, a foreign woman. It is clear that Ruth, a foreign woman, had a firm faith in her God while she lived with her mother-in-law, even though her days were short. In fact, on her human side, when Ruth follows her mother-in-law to Bethlehem, Israel, she can’t expect anything better. Because it was a reality of the time that Ruth herself, as a Moabite woman, would be subject to contempt and disdain throughout her life. However, she can confirm that even though Ruth was not a Jew or a descendant of Abraham, she was already a person of God who believed in Jehovah God Almighty.

룻기 1장 18절을 보겠습니다. “나오미가 룻이 자기와 함께 가기로 굳게 결심함을 보고 그에게 말하기를 그치니라 ”

룻기 1장 18절을 보면 룻은 시어머니 나오미가 섬기는 하나님을 끝까지 믿고 따르기로 룻은 확고하게 결단한 것을 나오미는 확인 합니다. 그리고 더 이상 시어머니 나오미는 룻에게 태어나고 자랐던 그의 삶의 터전인 모압으로 돌아가라고 하였던 것을 중단하였다고 룻기 1장 18절에서 말씀하고 있음을 볼 수 있습니다. 한마디로 말씀을 드리면 룻은 말씀으로 천지를 창조하신 창조주 하나님을, 우주를 다스리시고 섭리하시고 주관하시는 진정한 하나님을 바로 알았던 것입니다. 내가 이러한 창조주 하나님을 믿고 따를 때에 어떠한 어려움이 온다고 해서 포기하거나 중단하는 것이 아니라, 오직 시어머니 나오미가 섬기는 하나님 한 분만을 붙들고 시어머니를 잘 섬기며 나아가리라는 분명한 신앙을 갖고 있었던 것입니다.

Let’s look at Ruth 1:18. “When she saw that she was steadily minded to go with her, then she left speaking to her.”

In Ruth 1:18, Naomi confirms that Ruth has firmly decided to believe and follow the God whom her mother-in-law Naomi serves to the end. And we see in Ruth 1:18 that her mother-in-law Naomi stopped telling Ruth to go back to Moab, where she had been born and raised. In short, Ruth knew right away that God the Creator, who created heaven and earth with His Word, was the true God who rules, provides, and governs the universe. When I believed in and followed God the Creator, I did not give up or stop because of any difficulties. I had a clear faith that I would only hold on to the God whom my mother-in-law, Naomi, serves and move forward while serving her mother-in-law well.

다양한 측면에서 생각해 보면 실제적으로 룻은 자기 고향인 모압으로 돌아간다면 더 편안한 생활과 안식처를 가질 수 있었을 것이라고 생각 할 수 있습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 자신의 시어머니를 따라서 아무 것도 가진 것이 없고, 친척과 친구 없는 가운데 아무도 모르는 낯선 땅, 어떤 어려움이 기다리고 있는지 전혀 알 수 없는 이스라엘로 가겠다고 결심한 룻입니다. 이러한 룻의 결단은 단순한 효성이나 애정을 초월하여 완전한 자기희생을 감수한 위대한 신앙에서 나오는 것이라고 볼 수 있습니다.

바로 여기에서 저와 여러분 우리 모두는 룻의 신앙의 삶과 부모님께 효도하는 삶을 배울 수 있다는 말씀을 드리는 것입니다. 룻은 고향으로 돌아가라는 나오미의 말에 룻기 1장 17절에서 “어머니께서 죽으시는 곳에서 나도 죽어 거기 묻힐 것이라 만일 내가 죽는 일 외에 어머니를 떠나면 여호와께서 내게 벌을 내리시고 더 내리시기를 원하나이다 하는지라 “고 강력하고도 단호하게 시어머니 나오미에게 대답하고 있습니다.

If we think about it from various perspectives, we can actually think that Ruth would have been able to have a more comfortable life and shelter if she had returned to her hometown of Moab. Nevertheless, she decided to follow her mother-in-law to Israel, a strange land where she had nothing, without her relatives or friends, and had no idea what difficulties would await her. no see. Ruth’s decision can be seen as coming from a great faith that goes beyond simple filial piety or affection and involves complete self-sacrifice.

What I am saying is that right here, you and I, we can learn from Ruth’s life of faith and her life of filial piety to her parents. Ruth responds to Naomi’s words to return to her hometown in Ruth 1:17, “Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and “ she replies strongly and firmly to her mother-in-law, Naomi.

즉 룻은 시어머니 나오미를 죽기까지 최선을 다하여 섬기겠다는 결단입니다. 결국 룻은 시어머니 나오미를 따라서 이스라엘 베들레헴에 도착하여 이삭 줍는 일로 시작해서 시어머니 나오미를 정성껏 섬김으로 효부라는 말을 듣게 되었음을 룻기를 통하여 잘 알 수 있습니다.

그렇습니다. 오늘날 이 시대는 물질문명의 발달로 인하여 인성교육이 제대로 되지 않고 있는 시대가 되었습니다. 인성교육이 잘 안되니까 윤리 도덕이 무너져 가고 있는 이러한 시대에 저와 여러분들은 살고 있습니다. 그래서 우리 모두는 룻의 신앙과 시어머니 나오미를 향한 지극한 효성을 우리모두는 본받아야 하고 배워야 한다는 것입니다.

마태복음 1장 5절에서 6절을 보면 굉장히 중요한 말씀이 기록되어 있음을 확인 할 수 있습니다. “살몬은 라합에게서 보아스를 낳고 보아스는 룻에게서 오벳을 낳고 오벳은 이새를 낳고, 이새는 다윗 왕을 낳으니라 다윗은 우리야의 아내에게서 솔로몬을 낳고”

In other words, Ruth decided to serve her mother-in-law Naomi to the best of her ability, even to the point of death. In the end, we can clearly see through the Book of Ruth that Ruth followed her mother-in-law Naomi to Bethlehem, Israel, started out as a gleaner, and served her mother-in-law Naomi with all her heart, leading to her being called a filial father.

That’s right. Today, we live in an era where character education is not being done properly due to the development of material civilization. You and I are living in an era where ethics are collapsing because character education is not working well. So, we must all imitate and learn from Ruth’s faith and extreme filial piety toward her mother-in-law Naomi.

If you look at Matthew 1:5-6, you can see that very important words are recorded. “And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;”

마태복음 1장 5절에서 6절을 보면 룻기 1장 16절에서의 룻의 고백처럼 어머니의 하나님이 나의 하나님이라는 믿음과 결단은 룻 자신이 어떻게 하나님께 쓰임 받았는가를 확인 할 수 있는 내용입니다. 룻이 비록 이방 나라의 모압 여인이었지만 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 순종하므로 모든 인생을 주관하시는 하나님께서는 믿음의 사람 룻을 통하여 다윗이 태어나도록 역사하시는 것을 보게 됩니다. 그리고 다윗의 혈통을 통하여 예수 그리스도께서 이 세상에 오셨음을 마태복음 1장 16절을 통하여 확인 할 수 있습니다. “야곱은 마리아의 남편 요셉을 낳았으니 마리아에게서 그리스도라 칭하는 예수가 나시니라”. 시어머니 나오미가 섬기는 하나님이 나의 하나님이라는 믿음의 고백과 룻의 삶의 결단은 룻이 다윗 왕가의 혈통을 이을 수 있었고 예수 그리스도의 족보에 들어가는 놀라운 축복 속에 큰 영광을 얻게 된 것입니다.

결론적으로 에베소서 6장 1절에서 3절을 함께 읽어보도록 하겠습니다. “자녀들아 주 안에서 너희 부모에게 순종하라 이것이 옳으니라, 네 아버지와 어머니를 공경하라 이것은 약속이 있는 첫 계명이니, 이로써 네가 잘되고 땅에서 장수하리라”

Looking at Matthew 1:5-6, like Ruth’s confession in Ruth 1:16, Ruth’s belief and determination that her mother’s God is her God confirms how she herself was used by God. Although Ruth was a Moabite woman from a foreign country, she heard and obeyed God’s words, and so we see God, who controls her entire life, working through Ruth, a person of faith, to have David born. And we can confirm through Matthew 1:16 that Jesus Christ came to this world through David’s lineage. “And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.”

Ruth’s confession of faith that the God served by her mother-in-law Naomi was her God and Ruth’s decision in life allowed Ruth to inherit the lineage of the royal family of David and gain great glory in the amazing blessing of entering the genealogy of Jesus Christ.

In conclusion, let us read Ephesians 6:1-3 together. “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; “That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”

이 세상의 모든 나라에서는 부모를 섬기고 공경하는 것을 최대의 덕으로 여기고 있습니다. 그리고 부모를 잘 섬기는 자는 땅에서 잘 되고 장수하게 된다고 에베소서 6장 1절에서 3절까지 하나님은 말씀하고 있습니다. 룻의 믿음과 결단은 마치 아브라함의 결단의 삶의 모습을 볼 수 있습니다. 하나님께서 아브라함에게 본토와 아비와 친척의 집을 떠나 하나님이 허락하신 가나안 땅으로 가라는 하나님의 말씀을 순종하였을 때에 아브라함의 후손 이스라엘 백성들은 하나님이 사랑하는 언약의 백성이 될 수 있었음을 성경의 역사를 통하여 확인 할 수 있습니다. 이처럼 룻이 비록 자신이 이방 나라의 모압 여인이었지만 하나님의 말씀을 믿고 의지하여 순종하므로 다윗 왕가의 혈통을 이을 수 있었고 예수 그리스도의 족보에 들어가는 놀라운 영광과 축복을 얻게 되었다는 사실입니다. 저와 여러분 우리 모두는 룻의 신앙의 삶을 본받아서 우리들의 삶의 신앙생활가운데 적용하는 복된 삶이 되어야 하겠습니다. 우리들도 룻과 같은 신앙을 가지고 부모님을 잘 섬기며 살아가는 그리스도인들이 되어서 하나님의 거룩한 가정의 성도들이 되시기를 바랍니다. 그리하여 룻처럼 하나님과 사람들에게 칭찬받는 신앙인, 하나님의 거룩한 성도로서 하나님께 날마다 영광을 돌리는 가정, 하나님께 귀하게 쓰임 받는 아름다운 교회 성도들이 되시기를 예수님의 이름으로 축복합니다.

In every country in the world, serving and respecting one’s parents is considered the greatest virtue. And God says in Ephesians 6:1-3 that those who serve their parents well will prosper on earth and live long. Ruth’s faith and determination can be seen as a reflection of Abraham’s life of determination. It is confirmed through the history of the Bible that when God obeyed God’s command to Abraham to leave his home country, his father’s house, and his relatives’ house and go to the land of Canaan that God had granted, Abraham’s descendants, the Israelites, were able to become God’s beloved people of the covenant. You can. In this way, even though Ruth was a Moabite woman in a foreign country, she believed and relied on and obeyed the word of God, so she was able to inherit the lineage of the royal family of David, and she received the amazing glory and blessing of entering the genealogy of Jesus Christ. It’s a fact that I got it. All of us, you and I, should follow Ruth’s life of faith and live a blessed life by applying it to our lives of faith. I hope that we too will have the same faith as Ruth and become Christians who serve our parents well and become members of God’s holy family. Therefore, like Ruth, I bless you in the name of Jesus to become believers who are praised by God and people, families who give glory to God every day as holy saints of God, and beautiful church members who are preciously used by God.
